About this ambition:
Strengthening the shortsea position towards 2030
The Port of Moerdijk has significant added value as a European shortsea port in North Brabant. Towards 2030, we are committed to further strengthening this position. We achieve substantial added value through strategic cooperation with the Brabant inland ports.
Sustainable cargo flows and the circular economy
On the one hand, by focusing on the growth of sustainable cargo flows, thereby facilitating the circular economy. On the other hand, through growth via sustainable modalities such as water, rail and pipelines. This includes a deliberate shift towards relatively fewer trucks on the road.
Multimodal connections and a European hinterland
The port area is an important hub for sea, rail, road, pipeline and inland shipping connections, with an extensive hinterland across Europe. We have a strong hinterland network, which we continue to expand.
Contributing to European autonomy and strategic objectives
By optimally leveraging our position, we can make a positive contribution to Europe’s autonomy. We focus on sustainable growth of our shortsea position, where growth is not an end in itself, but a means to achieve our other strategic objectives.
Connecting
We are a trusted discussion partner for numerous organisations. Such as the Seaports Industry Organization (BOZ), where Port of Moerdijk collaborates with other seaports of national importance (Groningen Seaports, North Sea Port, Port of Amsterdam and Port of Rotterdam), the Dutch Inland Ports Association (NVB), Railcargo, Brabant Ports, Logistics Community Brabant, MCA Brabant, the Brabant Development Agency (BOM), Rewin, Regio West Brabant, and more.
Port of Moerdijk, together with the seaports of Zeeland, also forms one of the five 'mainports' of the Netherlands. Within the Mainport Program Seaports Zeeland | West-Brabant we collaborate with institutions and governments on projects in the field of resilience and safety.
In addition, Port of Moerdijk is in contact with various schools, training institutes and universities. We also regularly organise receptions for MBO and HBO students from Zeeland, Rotterdam and Breda. Helping educations and staffing or research into innovative technologies.
