About this ambition:
Leading as a port and industrial hub
To maintain our position as a port and industrial hub and to realise our strategic ambitions, we take the lead in developments that enable the logistics of the future.
Data driven logistics
Data plays a key role in activities across the port area, as it does in society at large. We use data to support efficiency improvements, predictive maintenance and the optimisation of traffic flows.
-
Increasing efficiency
-
Predictive maintenance
-
Improving throughput
Collaboration and digital infrastructure
As a port authority, we act as a knowledge partner, establish smart collaborations and ensure that innovative ICT systems are facilitated.
Physical shifts and new modalities
We also see physical shifts within the logistics sector towards the future.
- On the one hand, through the rise of pipelines and the use of new modalities, such as air transport via drones.
- On the other hand, the sector is becoming more sustainable and the demand for fuels is changing. New fuels and applications are constantly being developed.
Facilitating the transition
Port of Moerdijk actively stimulates and facilitates the sector in its transition, in line with the broader ambition of sustainable growth and innovation within the port area.
Innovativ collaborations
About 400 companies are located on our port and industrial estate. We at the Port of Moerdijk authority have the task of connecting these companies, making use of each other's strengths and strengthening clusters. We do this by organising 'tables' where we discuss problems and opportunities with each other. There are already dozens of companies that are entering into meaningful connections to make use of each other's knowledge and resources. There are also various initiatives for a joint approach to labour market and training issues.
