On the recommendation of the current supervisory board members, Mr. J.F.M. (Joost) van Dijk was appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board by the shareholders of the Port of Moerdijk authority as of October 1 for a term of four years. Van Dijk has extensive expertise in the field of energy transition and a strong affinity with the (chemical) industry. He also has knowledge and experience with the possibilities and impact of the energy transition on companies in the port.
Joost van Dijk succeeds Jan van der Eijk and, together with Peter van Laarhoven and Vera Luijendijk, forms the trio that will supervise the management and the strategy and risks associated with the activities of the port authority. In addition to supervision, the Supervisory Board also has an advisory role and is the employer of the management. Van Dijk was appointed outside the General Meeting of Shareholders in order to take up his position on October 1 and to prepare for the next Supervisory Board meeting.

ABOUT JOOST VAN DIJK
Joost van Dijk (1961) graduated with honors from the University of Twente in Electrical Engineering and obtained an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, after which he completed studies in the United States in the field of leadership and innovation at Harvard Universities and MIT. His professional career started at Shell Chemicals, where he fulfilled various management roles. From 2001 to 2014 he worked at EON; first as CEO of EON Benelux and then as COO at EON Generation GmbH responsible for the power stations in Europe. After this period he started working at Translead, where he was at the helm of various programs in the field of energy and climate, including Smart Delta Resources, where he gained experience with large companies and industries in the ports of North Sea Port .
ABOUT MOERDIJK PORT COMPANY
The port authority is a decisive organization with approximately 35 employees. It carries out advisory, service and executive activities for the development, construction, allocation, management and operation of the Moerdijk port and industrial estate. The organization is managed by two people in the statutory management: Paul Dirix (CEO) and Marika Menschaar-den Hartog (CFO). The Supervisory Board provides them with advice and supervises policy and general affairs.
