Shipping company W.E.C. Lines is expanding its services to and from Port of Moerdijk. This means that Moerdijk is now also directly connected to Casablanca in Morocco. The new 'Euro-Maroc service' also serves the port of Montoir in France, as well as Bilbao and Vigo in Spain and three ports in Portugal. In addition, W.E.C. is launching Lines an improved, weekly shortsea service ('ESPT III') to connect Northern Europe, Spain and Portugal. The new services strengthen the position of Port of Moerdijk as a shortsea hotspot.

Verbeterde shortsea-service ook naar Frankrijk
The improved service means faster transit time, improved capacity and more flexibility in the service offering. This allows customers to benefit from shorter lead times and better options for shipping their goods. By offering regular and reliable services with Morocco, W.E.C. furthermore, opportunities to expand trade activities with the African continent.
“We are happy with the connection with Spain, Portugal and final destination Casablanca,” says Kyra Lemmens, Commercial Manager Logistics at Port of Moerdijk.
“But the connection with Montoir in France also deserves attention. It offers an environmentally friendly alternative to road transport to the west of France.”
