Drones are playing an increasingly important role, including within the Moerdijk port and industrial area. They offer new opportunities to work more efficiently, gain better insight into our surroundings, and act faster when necessary. At the same time, the risks are also increasing. Unauthorized drone use can disrupt safety and poses risks to businesses and visitors.
Therefore, Port of Moerdijk is working on procedures and close cooperation with partners such as SBIM and regulatory authorities. In addition, we are focusing on drone detection to be able to identify unauthorized use (earlier).
No-flyzone
Port of Moerdijk has been designated as a no-fly zone due to the presence of critical infrastructure, intensive logistics activities, and safety concerns. Not just anyone is allowed to fly over the port. The airspace above the Moerdijk port and industrial area is regulated.
Drones in the open category (the category requiring no permit) may not be flown. Only drone flights by licensed operators who meet specific safety requirements may be permitted.
Via the 'GoDrone' button, you will find an up-to-date map from the Dutch government showing all airspace restrictions, including the zones where drone use is not permitted. This map helps to plan drone flights safely and in accordance with the rules, so that risks are mitigated.
Aanmelden drone-vlucht
Exceptions may be made for professional use of drones in the specific and certified category.
Apart from the generally applicable regulations, drone use must always be registered with the Port of Moerdijk Communication Centre of the Port Authority.
This can be done simply by filling out the form behind the button below. Do this at least 24 hours before the flight in question is scheduled.
Algemene voorschriften
The Dutch Government provides a complete overview of the national regulations for flying drones. You will find information there regarding, for example, permits and safety regulations.
The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (IL&T) supervises the safe and responsible use of drones and provides information on the obligations that apply to drone operators and what is expected for professional use.
Bij vermoeden ongeoorloofd gebruik
In case of suspected unauthorized use, the police can be called on 0900-8844. If you assess an immediate threat or danger, call 112.
The observation can also be reported by email via hmcc@portofmoerdijk.nl or via the Port Alert Moerdijk app, so that we can gain insight into the nature and frequency of the issues and align our policy and coordination with (government) partners accordingly.
Information regarding what is important when reporting unauthorized use can be found on the Central Government website.
